About Kramer Kitchen

I've always cared about eating clean, simple, wholesome food. I've seen illness and cancer firsthand in my own family, and it made me pay close attention to what actually goes into the things we eat.

A few years ago, that turned into a habit of reading ingredient labels, really reading them. When I found out a loaf of store-bought bread can have more than forty ingredients in it, something clicked. I wanted to know what bread looked like with none of that. So I started teaching myself to make it at home.

I spent months learning everything I could about sourdough before my sister-in-law mailed me some of her dehydrated starter to get me going. From there, it was all trial and error, and my first few loaves were genuinely bad. But I kept practicing, kept learning, and eventually got to loaves I'm proud to make again and again. Three ingredients: flour, water, and salt. That's it.

Sourdough baking has become my creative outlet. I'm always asking myself what else I can make from scratch, what else sourdough discard can turn into, how I can keep feeding my family and my friends food where I know exactly what's in it.

It's been a little over four years now. I started sharing what I make on TikTok almost two years ago, and on Instagram about a year ago, and I've found a community of people who care about the same things I do. I love teaching what I've learned and sharing every recipe here with you.
